Build Your Setup operates at https://buildyoursetup.com. We believe your data is yours. This policy explains what we collect (very little), how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
Nothing personal
Build Your Setup is a free, client-side tool. No account, no login, no personal information required. Everything runs in your browser.
Analytics (only with consent)
If you accept cookies, Google Analytics 4 collects anonymized usage data - pages viewed, session duration, device type, and general region. This data is aggregated and cannot identify you personally.
Local storage
Your PC build, theme preference, budget, and consent choice are stored in your browser’s localStorage. This data never leaves your device.
Cookies and tracking
We use a consent-first model. No tracking cookies are placed until you explicitly accept. If you decline, no analytics data is collected and the tool works exactly the same.
Third-party services
Google Analytics 4
Anonymized website analytics. Loads only after consent. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.
Retailer links
We link to Amazon, Newegg, Best Buy, B&H, and Micro Center. When you click, you’re subject to their privacy policies. We receive no purchase data.
Your rights
GDPR & CCPA
We process data based on your consent (analytics cookies) and legitimate interest in improving the service. Since we collect no personally identifiable information beyond anonymized analytics, the scope of applicable data rights is minimal. You may withdraw consent at any time by clearing cookies.
Children’s privacy
Build Your Setup is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
